Superintendent Ryan Hearty and Curriculum Director Toni Martindell will host monthly meetings with youth and adult members at each of the schools in the LSSU. These meetings will be facilitated in partnership with UP for Learning.

Youth and adults will engage in activities that explore topics such as community, belonging, values, leadership, anti-bias/anti-racism, community schools, and facilitation.
During their second meeting in April, the team will continue their work to implement six Antiracism Demands.

The summit aims to empower young leaders by providing them with a platform to develop skills, exchange ideas, and collaborate on initiatives that address pressing global challenges.
In their third retreat, the Restorative Practices team from Edmunds Middle School will met with the Edmunds Principal to co-design the structure of the lunch period at the school next year. They will also focus on discussing athletic policies at the school. Along the way, they will build community and play games!
In this retreat, the YFET will focus on making recommendations to the BSD administrators in order to improve communications with parents and caregivers in the district.
