What Sort of School do You Dream Of?

Time for you to dream…

What sort of school do you dream of? Join youth, educators, and community members from around the state in participating in an Instagram campaign to create a vision for an ideal school and shape our future together! The more participants the better, creating a learning “buzzzz” around the state. There will likely be many direct connections between the expressed dreams and the opportunities inherent in Act 77 – perfect dialogue starters!

We are hoping for multi-generational submissions (although older folks will likely need some help with the medium!).

What to do

1. Create a short Instagram video (15 seconds or less), or take a picture of yourself with your written response answering the prompt “I dream of a school where…” Need some inspiration? Check out this video from South Burlington High School or this video from South Royalton!

2. Post the video or picture to Instagram using the hashtag #idreamofaschool Don’t forget to tag UP for Learning: @UPforLearning

3. You can also include a hashtag for your school or organization! For example #MontpelierHighSchool or #VTAgencyofEducation

Not sure about Instagram? Ask a young person to show you!

Shaping Our Future Together will create a video from all of the Instagram posts shared up to February 1, 2016 using the hashtag #idreamofaschool and will create a video featuring the Instagram videos and pictures. The video will be posted on the Shaping Our Future Together: Communicating School Redesign website and shared throughout Vermont.
