UP for Learning in collaboration with Outright Vermont, the Vermont Student Anti-Racism Network, the Education Justice Coalition, Vermont Afterschool, Youth 4 Change, Voices for Vermont‘s Children and others are collaborating to hold space for a conversation with Congresswoman Balint.
The executive orders of the past two weeks have brought attacks on Trans and LGBTQIA, immigrant, BIPOC, and disability communities, and on critical structures like public education. In the face of these brazen attempts to dismantle the structures that ensure our rights and freedoms, youth around Vermont have every right to wonder what it all means and who is going to stand up for them.
We’re inviting middle and high-school students from around Vermont to join a conversation with Congresswoman Balint to share questions and experiences, and think together about how to feel hopeful and keep our communities safe during scary and uncertain times.
At UP for Learning, we believe we all must play our part in uprooting and rebuilding the systems behind inequities.
