Transforming School Culture Through Restorative Approaches

A representative team of youth and adults from Hazen MS/HS will work with UP facilitators to build a vision for restorative practices at their school, including looking at current systems and developing a clear vision with goals and strategies for developing restorative mindsets and shifts.

During these retreats, the team will:

• Develop an understanding of the why, what and how of restorative approaches in schools and peer mediation.
• Engage in Youth Participatory Action Research projects to determine the strengths and needs of the school community. 
• Design and facilitate dialogues and engagement sessions to both collect data and then share back data to collaborate on action steps (this will be a part of the YPAR cycle)
• Be trained in peer mediation and other practices to strengthen their RP toolbox.
